Flutter web SEO: what Flutter's own docs recommend
Flutter's documentation is direct: Flutter web is built for app experiences, and its output doesn't align with what search engines need to index. For pages that need to rank, Flutter recommends HTML (or the Dart package Jaspr) and keeping Flutter for the app itself.

How Flutter web serves pages to crawlers
Flutter web draws the interface with its own rendering engine rather than ordinary HTML text and links, so crawlers see little indexable content.
What Flutter says
Flutter's web FAQ says Flutter is particularly suited to progressive web apps, single-page apps and existing Flutter mobile apps, and that it isn't suitable for static websites with text-rich, flow-based content such as blog articles. It adds that Flutter web's output doesn't align with what search engines need to properly index.
The recommended setup
| Part of the product | Build it with |
|---|---|
| Homepage, marketing pages, pricing, blog, help | Search-optimized HTML (any framework that renders HTML), or Jaspr if you want Dart |
| The app after sign-in | Flutter |
| Interactive demos on content pages | Flutter embedded into the HTML page |
Flutter's own documentation and marketing sites moved to Jaspr, a community Dart package for traditional DOM-based sites.
Checklist for the HTML side
- Server-rendered or static HTML with real text and <a href> links.
- Unique titles and descriptions, a sitemap and robots.txt.
- Deep links to app store listings or the web app.
Flutter and AI search
- Check robots.txt allows the AI search crawlers you want: OAI-SearchBot (ChatGPT search), Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot. See the AI crawler list and the robots.txt generator.
- Check your host's or CDN's bot protection doesn't block them even when robots.txt allows them.
- Make sure the main text is in the HTML the server sends. AI crawlers don't run JavaScript.
- Avoid nosnippet and tiny max-snippet values on pages you want quoted; they also keep pages out of Google's AI Overviews.
