- AI crawler access, per bot
- robots.txt rules for the search crawlers that decide citations (OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Googlebot, Bingbot), kept separate from training crawlers like GPTBot, which you can block without leaving ChatGPT search. See GPTBot vs OAI-SearchBot.
- Firewall and CDN blocks
- 403s, HTTP 402 pay-per-crawl and challenge pages served to AI crawlers but not to browsers, including Cloudflare's AI crawl settings.
- Content without JavaScript

Questions
Does passing this check mean ChatGPT will cite me?+
No, and no tool can promise that. Access is the gate: a crawler that can't fetch your page can't cite it. Past the gate, citations depend on whether you answer the question and on what other sites say about you. This check covers what you control on your own page.
Is GEO different from SEO?+
For Google's AI features, Google says it's the same work as SEO. For ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, the differences are real: separate crawlers, no JavaScript, and firewall rules that often block them by accident. That's what this check adds.
Should I block GPTBot?+
That's a training decision, not a visibility one. GPTBot collects training data; OAI-SearchBot fetches pages for ChatGPT search. You can block the first and still appear in ChatGPT answers, as long as the second is allowed.
Can I see whether ChatGPT actually cites me?+
