Landing page optimization: pages that rank and convert
Landing page optimization means improving the page a visitor arrives on, whether from search, ads or email, so it matches their intent and leads them to act.

A landing page is any page someone arrives on from search, an ad or a link. Optimizing it means two things: making it the best match for the search that brought the visitor, and making it easy for them to take the next step.
Landing page checklist
- One intent per page: the page answers one search need, such as "emergency plumber Pune".
- A headline and first sentence that confirm the visitor is in the right place.
- The key facts above the fold: what it is, price or price range, where, how fast.
- Proof: reviews, examples, certifications, guarantees you can keep.
- One clear call to action, repeated where it fits.
- Fast loading on mobile.
- Structured data for the page type: Product, LocalBusiness, Service-related types or Organization.
- Indexable, with a self-referencing canonical, unless it's an ads-only page you deliberately noindex.
By page type
| Page | Focus |
|---|---|
| Homepage | Who you are, what you do, where, and paths to your main services; it ranks for your brand and broad terms |
| Service page | One service, its price range, area, process and proof |
| Product page | Unique description, specs, price and availability in Product markup, real photos, reviews |
| Ads landing page | Matches the ad's promise exactly; its quality is also part of Google Ads' Ad Rank |

Should landing pages be indexed?+
Pages meant to rank should be. Pages built only for ad campaigns, often near-duplicates of each other, are commonly set to noindex.
What is product page optimization?+
Writing a unique description, adding specifications, price and availability with Product structured data, using real photos, showing reviews and making the page fast.
