Search Console AI report analyzer: which pages AI Overviews show, and which they skip
Search Console's Generative AI report counts impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode by page, with no clicks and no queries. On its own it can't tell you much. Joined with the normal Performance report it shows each page's share of visibility from AI features, which pages AI answers may be replacing, and which popular pages never appear. Drop both exports below; the files stay in your browser. Background: how the report works
Analyze your exports
- Search Console › Performance › Generative AI (Search) › Pages tab › Export › Download CSV. Your menu label may differ slightly.
- Search Console › Search results, search type Web, same date range › Pages tab › Export › Download CSV.
- Drop both files below. They're read in your browser and never uploaded.

What it checks
- AI share by page
- AI impressions ÷ Web impressions for every page in both exports, sorted by AI impressions.
- Pages AI answers may be replacing
- Mostly AI impressions and a click-through rate below your site's median: the search may be answered before anyone clicks.
- Popular pages AI features skip
- 100+ Web impressions and none in AI features. The usual cause is a snippet control (nosnippet, max-snippet, data-nosnippet), which the audit above checks.
- Honest about the data
- Flags the 1,000-row export limit, merges #:~:text= fragment URLs, and doesn't pretend the two reports de-duplicate the same way.

Questions
Does Search Console show clicks from AI Overviews?+
No. The Generative AI report has impressions only. Clicks on links in AI Overviews and AI Mode are counted in the normal Performance report under Web, mixed with every other click.
Are my files uploaded?+
No. The analyzer reads the CSV or zip in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is sent to our servers, and closing the tab discards it.
Why does a page have more AI impressions than Web impressions?+
Usually different date ranges, or the Performance export cut the page off at 1,000 rows. The share is capped at 100%, and pages missing from the Performance export are flagged so you can check.
My Generative AI report is empty. Why?+
Google gives two reasons: the site hasn't had enough impressions in AI features yet, or it's set to Exclude under Settings > Search generative AI. Check that setting on every property, including URL-prefix ones.
Does it work with Bing's AI Performance report?+
Not yet. Bing reports citations and the grounding queries behind them, a different shape of data. Our guide to Bing's report explains how to read it.
